All food processors are not made the same. While one may be perfect for one person, that same one will not do what another person needs or wants it to do. For that reason, we decided to pick out five of the best food processors that we could find and let you know the pros and possibly cons of each one. It was not an easy task, by any means, but it was fun to play around in the kitchen chopping, dicing and even cleaning up.
- 1 The five best food processors that we chose to review are:
- 1.1 Braun 12 Cup Food Processor with an Ultra Quiet but Powerful Motor and 7 Attachment Blades
- 1.2 Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Stack and Snap Food Processor
- 1.3 Cuisinart Pro Classic 7 Cup Food Processor
- 1.4 KitchenAid 7 Cup Food Processor with Exact Slice System
- 1.5 Breville Sous Chef Food Processor

We told you that this task was not easy and I’m amazed that we could stop at just five! It was nearly impossible to narrow it down to just these five and now to have to narrow it down from here seems even more difficult!
We decided to review the design and power of each food processor as well as the capacity, equipment, features and finally the price. To make things easier, we are listing all of these categories under each food processor. This will make that things do not get more confusing than they already might be for you and us.
Braun 12 Cup Food Processor with an Ultra Quiet but Powerful Motor and 7 Attachment Blades
The Braun food processor that we reviewed was white and we loved how the compact design allows for easy storage in any kitchen. It is the perfect size to keep on a cabinet shelf or place in a corner on the countertop if a person uses it enough. As compact as it is, it has a powerful 600-watt motor that quickly does any job that is needed.
This food processor is perfect for larger families, because it holds up to twelve cups of dry ingredients and nine cups of wet ingredients. There are seven attachments that are included with this food processor. The attachments are shredding, slicing, kugel potato latkes blade, S blade, whipping, kneading, and juicer. All of these attachments make it easier for you to slice, dice, shred and mix anything in your kitchen.
The food processor is simple to put together as soon as you receive it and it is easy to clean after use. The motor on this food processor is ultra-quiet, so you can have conversations while working or use it when the children are napping. The eleven pre-set speed functions will allow you to work as fast as you need to without ending up with a liquid mess on your hands. We were able to dice onions and peppers for our chili dinner quite quickly on one of the higher speeds. It is even energy efficient and does not use a lot of power to do its job.
There are two additional safety bonuses with this food processor too, which is great for adults and children. The bowl locks into place on the motor base, so it cannot come off while it is in use. Another handy feature is that the processor will not start, even if it is turned on, until the lid has been closed properly. This will prevent a messy kitchen every time.
The cost of this food processor is $149.95 which is fairly reasonable for all of the work that it does!
Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Stack and Snap Food Processor
This processor is black, so it will match many of the newer kitchen designs that are becoming more popular, like the black or stainless steel appliances. The powerful 450-watt motor chops, dices, or slices food quickly and easily.
The bowl of this Hamliton Beach processor holds twelve cups and it doesn’t matter if there is a little too much liquid, because the bowl seals completely. Included with this food processor is an S blade and a reversible slice and shred disc. The bowl even has a built-in pour spout so that you can avoid spills and drips while pouring out any liquids. With the attachments, you will be able to finely shred, chop, and slice any item that you wish. We pureed about eleven and a half cups of butternut squash soup without anything leaking out and were able to pour it easily into bowls with the spout.
The stack and snap assembly means that no one will have any difficulty setting this up and a function guide will let you know which blade to use and which button to press. The big mouth at the top allows you to place larger amounts into the food processor each time, so you will not need to waste your time cutting items into smaller pieces. The blades, bowl and lid are all dishwasher safe, so cleanup is a breeze every time. We also loved how the cord has a storage spot, so that we did not have to wrestle with the cord every time we put the food processor away.
The amazing price of this food processor is $35.99 which makes it very affordable.
Cuisinart Pro Classic 7 Cup Food Processor
We reviewed the white Cuisinart Pro Classic 7 Cup Food Processor and were happy with the 600-watt motor. We also liked the slim design and the fact that it was not too bulky.
The bowl holds up to seven cups, which is large enough to process food for most families. Included with this food processor is a large feed tube, a small food pusher, a large food pusher, a stainless-steel blade and discs, plus a flat cover.
The motor on this food processor is powerful yet quiet, whether a person is chopping up veggies for dinner or kneading a batch of bread dough. The seven-cup work bowl might seem quite large at times, but it can do smaller portions as well. We needed a few gloves of garlic minced for a recipe we were working on and this processor took care of it quickly for us without a problem. We were thrilled to not have to mince the garlic by hand.
The large feed tube is big enough to fit whole fruits and vegetables, but a small feed tube insert is included for smaller items. This machine only has a single button that turns the machine on and off and pulses your ingredients too. That single button is how you will control your machine. You can chop, shred, slice, puree, knead, and emulsify anything that you want in your kitchen. All of the parts are dishwasher safe which means clean-up just got easier.
The price of this food processor is $99.99 which is a deal with how much it can accomplish.
KitchenAid 7 Cup Food Processor with Exact Slice System
We reviewed the silver food processor, but it is also available in white, red, and black to match the décor of any kitchen. The 300-watt motor is powerful enough, but not as powerful as some of the other models we have been reviewing. The difference might be enough to take it to the bottom of the list for many people. This model is also a little wider than many of the others, which will make storage an issue for most people.
The bowl of this processor holds up to seven cups, which is a good amount of food at one time. Included with the food processor is the adjustable slicing disc and shredding disc plus a multipurpose blade.
The bowl features an ultra-tight seal with a special locking system and leak resistant ring, so the bowl can be filled to capacity. And you still won’t make a mess. We tried it and were successful with soup, so it works. The feed tube is unique, because it is a two in one. We used both the large and narrow openings during shredding and slicing, and nothing got stuck. The food pushers will help you guide your food down, so that you are successful as well. You will have three options as you are using this machine.
You can either use low or high speed or there is an option to pulse. The exact slice system allows you to slice any type of food in the thickness that you want. You control the thickness with the adjustable slider and all of your food will come out the same size. We tried it with apples for apple pie, onions for onion rings and carrots for snacking on.
The price of this Kitchenaid model is $111.99 which might seem a little pricey, however with the exact slice system, the higher price might be justifiable. People who always want the same thickness of certain foods quite often, might be drawn to this model because of this feature.
Breville Sous Chef Food Processor
We used the stainless-steel version of this product, but it is also available in red and black. This food processor has the highest performance of every machine we have tried at 1,200 watts.
There are two options for bowls and while one holds up to sixteen cups, the other is a two and a half cup mini processing bowl. It also has a set of eight discs and blades that have their own storage area. One disc can be used to slice an item in one of twenty-four different thicknesses. The other discs can be used to julienne, cut French fries, whisk, and shred. The blades that are included are a universal S blade, dough blade, and a mini blade.
The silicone seal reduces the chances that the bowl will leak and the wide feed chute allows you to place larger items in without cutting them into smaller pieces. A large and small food pusher helps push the food into the processor and the small food pusher can also be used as a measuring cup. A nice feature on this food processor is the LCD display with a count up and count down timer. If you set the time, Breville processor will automatically stop when that time has been reached.
This food processor also has a few nice safety features. The feed chute safety system will prevent the motor from operating if the bowl, lid, or large food pusher are not in the proper place and locked. The motor also has a safety braking system, so it cannot get overheated. The non-skid rubber feet will ensure that this food processor will not walk across the counter as you are trying to use it.
We loved making homemade French fries and sweet potato fries using the French fry disc. It was much easier than cutting the potatoes into even pieces by hand. Next, we want to try to julienne some potatoes next for hash browns and cheesy julienned potatoes. We think that the results will be fantastic.
With so many features, it is surprising that this food processor is not larger than it is. Plus, the price is only $368.55.
The One We Chose For the Holiday Season
All of these food processors are wonderful and each one has at least one unique feature that most of the other ones do not have. While we are sure that many of us would love the Ninja Food Processor and Breville Sous Chef Food Processor, as it is the one that does the most, it is not in the budget. For that reason, it goes to number two on our list of the best.
Our number one choice out of all of these food processors is the Braun 12 Cup Food Processor with the Ultra Quiet but Powerful Motor. It is a versatile machine that will allow anyone to chop, slice and dice, yet everyone can also knead bread dough and use it as a juicer. Plus, the compact design will allow everyone to fit it anywhere in their kitchen easily. The price is right too at just under $150.
It was a difficult decision that we had to make, but at least we had fun during the process of testing and trying out all of these food processors. We are not going to let the fun end though. We are going to get right back into the kitchen and work on julienning some of those potatoes and get right back to cooking.
